Platon Talent — Mobile App UI/UX Design
Platon Talent is a mobile talent platform that connects developers and freelancers with opportunities. In one app, people can browse and apply for projects, get a clear picture of salary & rate expectations, and keep a polished professional profile that represents their skills to potential clients or teams.
My responsibility was the end-to-end UI/UX design of the product flows — from the home feed and opportunity browsing, through filters and compensation, down to the developer profile — all wrapped in a small, reusable design system so the product can scale without drifting.
Note: All screens shown are UI work I designed in Figma during this project. To respect confidentiality, actual user data, names, and figures have been replaced with dummy examples.
01 · Problem framing
A talent platform lives and dies by trust and clarity. The UI challenge wasn't just making screens attractive — it was helping people quickly decide, "is this opportunity for me, and am I credible enough to apply?"
Challenges
- Two-sided trust: people need to trust the opportunity listing, and hosts need to trust the candidate — the UI had to surface credibility on both sides.
- Compensation clarity: salary and rate expectations are the fastest way to shortlist opportunities, but they're sensitive — they need a clear but neutral presentation.
- Discoverability: a feed alone creates noise; users needed filters, categories, and tabs to reach the exact kind of project they wanted.
- Profile as proof: a developer profile is a mini-portfolio — skills, metrics, and history all need to read at a glance.
Design goals
- One consistent design language across the whole app, built from a small reusable component library.
- Clear information hierarchy so the most important thing — the opportunity, the salary, the person — always leads.
- Fast filtering with obvious controls, so browsing feels effortless instead of overwhelming.
- Structured layers and clear naming so the design is ready for confident developer handoff.
02 · Process
I ran a structured design process from discovery to delivery.
- 01 · Discover: Studied how users search for talent work, what makes a listing trustworthy, and how compensation expectations shape decisions.
- 02 · Define: Mapped the core information architecture and user flows — home, browse & filter, salary, and profile.
- 03 · Design: Designed wireframes through high-fidelity UI in Figma — from the home feed to opportunity cards, filters, and the developer profile.
- 04 · Deliver: Packaged a reusable design system and screen documentation ready for handoff to the development team.

04 · Design system & components
Because a mobile app has limited space, every component had to earn its place. The system is built from a small set of consistent building blocks — navigation, cards, tabs, filters, status/metrics, and form items — so any new screen reuses the same patterns instead of inventing new ones.

05 · Reflection & next steps
Designing Platon Talent reinforced my habit of designing systems, not just pixels. On a small screen, reusable patterns kept the product cohesive across many screens while still leaving room for personalized touches like the developer profile.
Areas I'd like to explore further:
- Usability testing with both freelance talent and hiring teams to validate the browse & filter journey.
- Application flow — the step between "I like this opportunity" and "I've applied" deserves a dedicated, friction-free experience.
- Notifications for matched opportunities and salary-alert updates, reducing the need to check manually.
